Measuring principle The ASCOspeed 5500 operates on the signal phasing group method, so representing a further development of the proven spatial frequency filter technology. The material surfaces moved are measured on the basis of the precise grid structure of the detector and then converted into an electrical frequency proportional to the speed of the object. The spatial frequency filter method has been known for over 40 years. Commonly known as the "picket fence effect", the flash frequency is proportional to the speed of a light source moved behind the "pickets". The "picket spacing", as a reference, determines the accuracy. The implementation of the pickets as a sensitive silicon grid and the associated 15 years and more of practical experience make their mark on the outstanding features of this new, powerful generation of speed and length measuring equipment. |
